Legal notice

Who publishes CIVIC, who hosts it, where its content comes from, and what the service is not.

Publisher

The website www.civic-examencivique.fr and the CIVIC service are published by:

Hosting

The website and the application are hosted by:

The host makes the pages technically available. It plays no part in editorial content, for which the publisher alone remains responsible.

An independent service

CIVIC is a private preparation service. It is neither published, nor approved, nor supervised by the French Ministry of the Interior, nor by any other French administration. No link, agreement or accreditation connects it to the official organisation of the civic exam.

CIVIC replaces neither official sources nor administrative procedures. It does not determine whether you pass the exam, nor whether you obtain a residence permit or French nationality. No administration requires you to go through a paying provider in order to prepare.

Information about your own administrative situation must be checked with your préfecture or on service-public.fr.

Sources and intellectual property

Two kinds of content sit side by side on this site, and they do not fall under the same regime.

The syllabus markers and the knowledge questions are derived from the lists published by the Ministry of the Interior on formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr. They are reused under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence version 2.0 (Etalab). This reuse implies no endorsement by the producer of the data.

The answer options, the explanations, the study sheets, the scenario questions, the visual identity, the editorial texts and the code of the site are the original work of CIVIC and are protected by copyright. Any reproduction or reuse, in whole or in part, outside the statutory exceptions, requires the publisher’s written permission.

One point matters: no official answer key to the civic exam is published. The correct answers and explanations offered by CIVIC are our own editorial work, subject to expert review. They must not be presented as official.

Liability

The publisher takes the greatest care over the accuracy of the content and updates it as the applicable texts change. It cannot, however, guarantee that this content is free of error or that it reflects the law in force at any given moment.

Use of the service is the user’s sole responsibility. The publisher cannot be held liable for an administrative decision, an exam failure or any loss resulting from the use of the information published here.

Links to other sites

The site links to public resources — notably service-public.fr and the websites of the Ministry of the Interior — as well as to CIVIC’s official social media accounts. The publisher exercises no control over these third-party sites and accepts no responsibility for their content.

Reporting content

Any factual error, any content you believe to be inaccurate, or any infringement of a right may be reported to our contact address. Reports are reviewed and, where well founded, the content is corrected or removed.

Applicable law

This legal notice is governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any legal action.
